I made a butterfly. It was pink, purple, and yellow. The texture is rough.. The butterfly's movement was flying in the air.
Clay Creature Reflection (11-D): March 26, 2012
1. I think the good/strong parts of my butterfly is the detail because since the actual sculpture doesn't stand by itself I thought I should even it out with detail.
2. I could have done a better job at making it more 3D and have it stand up by itself because that would have made the sculpture better itself.
3. I created a butterfly. I chose that because originally I was going to make a mouse but it dried out so I decided to do something a little easier to make.
4. My butterfly is thin like a real butterfly would be and she has a boxy shape. The movement frozen in time her flying away.
5. The texture on my butterfly is soft. I chose that because real butterflies are soft.
6. I learned that you have to take your time because I worked too fast and didn't get the exact results I wanted.
7. Originally I started making a mouse but it dried out over spring break so I had to get rid of it. I got the idea of a butterfly from my wire sculpture so I started creating that and it worked out well.
8. I think you should do this project next year for sure. There were just enough limits but just enough freedom at the same time. I like how you give us an idea of the other art classes that we can take in the future.
